These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Jarli app and website (together, the “Service”), operated by Wavely Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Jarli is an AI-assisted career-transition tool for the Australian market. It helps you build a profile, agree a direction, and work through weekly activities toward a career goal. When you are applying for jobs, it can also read job ads you share, keep track of the roles you are applying for, draft resumes and cover letters with you, and help you prepare and practise for interviews; and once you start a new job, it can check in and help you prepare for conversations at work. Jarli’s guidance is generated by artificial intelligence and is general in nature.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you are. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly at hello@jarli.au if you suspect unauthorised use. You can delete your account at any time (see our account-deletion page).
Jarli provides career guidance only. It is not, and must not be relied on as:
Decisions you make are your own. Where a matter calls for a qualified professional, please consult one.
Job search. Jarli is not a recruiter or an employment agency. It does not apply for jobs, contact employers, or send anything on your behalf, and it cannot promise any outcome, such as an interview or an offer. Its view of how you fit a job ad, and its feedback in practice interviews, are opinions to help you prepare. Documents Jarli drafts with you are drafts: read and check them before you use them, because you are responsible for what you send to an employer or anyone else, including that it is accurate.
Jarli is not a crisis or mental-health service and cannot respond to emergencies.
If you are in distress or crisis, or worried about your safety or someone else’s, please reach out now:
Using Jarli does not create a therapeutic, counselling, or clinical relationship of any kind.
Jarli’s responses, plans and activities are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Jarli also uses AI to make and support decisions about what to offer you next, without a human reviewing each one — we explain this in our Privacy Policy. This output is guidance and support only; it is not a professional, legal, financial, medical, employment or migration decision. Jarli can be wrong about facts, including job-market information, pay, qualifications, course details and what an employer requires, so check anything important with its source before you rely on it. Responses are generated for you but may be similar to what other users receive. You are responsible for how you use Jarli’s output. If you would like a person at Wavely to review how Jarli has handled a matter, contact privacy@jarli.au. Who at Wavely can see your conversations, and why, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Jarli is provided for your own career planning. You agree not to:
We may set reasonable usage limits to keep the Service reliable and to prevent misuse.
You retain ownership of the information you provide (“your content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, use, process and adapt your content for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the Service — including generating your profile, plans and activities, and processing by our overseas AI providers — as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence continues, in de-identified form, for retained de-identified records as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to provide it.
The Service, including its software, design, text, and the plans and activities Jarli generates, together with the Jarli name and branding, are owned by or licensed to Wavely Pty Ltd and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own career planning, in accordance with these Terms. You may use the plans and materials Jarli generates for you for your own personal purposes. Resumes, cover letters and other documents Jarli drafts with you from your own material are yours to use as you choose, including sending them to employers, recruiters and anyone else. Because other people may receive similar output, you do not gain exclusive rights in it, or any rights in Jarli’s general methods, structures or material. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. If you give us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them without obligation to you.
Jarli is free. There is no paid plan and nothing to buy, in the apps or on the web, and we never ask for your card details.
If that ever changes. If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before they start. You will never be charged automatically or moved onto a paid plan without choosing it yourself, and any paid feature will come with its own terms, shown to you before you pay.
Jarli is offered during a pilot and is being actively developed. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Some features may be offered to some users only, and may be withdrawn. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where reasonably practicable, if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully or in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service, or where we are required to by law. We may also stop offering the Service, or end your access for any other reason, by giving you at least 30 days’ notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 7, 8 and 14–18) survive.
Jarli relies on, and may link you to, third-party services and materials (including our identity provider, AI providers, your browser's push service if you turn on reminders, and external learning resources). We are not responsible for third-party services or content, which are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
If you download the Jarli app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store’s terms, and the following apply. Jarli is free (section 9), and the mobile apps do not offer in-app purchases.
These Terms are between you and Wavely Pty Ltd only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, and any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are our responsibility, not Apple’s. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. You must comply with the Apple Media Services / App Store Terms and confirm you are not in a US-embargoed country or on a prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Your use of the app must comply with the Google Play Terms of Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded (your “non-excludable rights”).
Subject to your non-excludable rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law: the Service and its AI-generated guidance are provided “as is” and “as available”, without other warranties; we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, opportunity, or data; and our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms is limited, where permitted, to (at our option) resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied, or to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
To the extent permitted by law, and except to the extent caused by us, you agree to indemnify us for reasonably foreseeable loss we suffer arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of a third party’s rights. This does not apply to the extent your loss or our loss results from our own breach, negligence, or wrongful act, and does not limit your non-excludable rights.
If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at hello@jarli.au — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally. If we cannot resolve it, either of us may pursue available legal avenues. Nothing here prevents you from making a complaint to a relevant regulator (for privacy matters, the OAIC), or from exercising your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We will post the updated Terms here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant and to your disadvantage, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree to it, you can stop using the Service and delete your account. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply to you. Paid features, if we ever introduce them, are covered by section 9.
Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign or novate them in connection with a sale, merger or restructure of our business, without reducing your rights.
Severability & waiver. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service, and supersede prior discussions.
Notices. We may give you notices through the Service or by email to your account address; you can reach us at hello@jarli.au.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State and the Commonwealth of Australia. If you are a consumer, you may also have the benefit of the laws and courts of the place where you live.
